Job Objectives
The Accounting Assistant will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the success of ongoing projects. Reporting to the Field Administration Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing vendor payments, and assisting with various accounting tasks to ensure compliance with company policies and financial standards
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Vendor Payment Management
- Manage payments for all vendors, whether engaged regularly or irregularly.
- Maintain and update vendor payment accounts and vendor lists.
- Register vendor accounts in the company system for each payment target.
- Ensure payments are appropriate, justified, and compliant with contract terms and internal company standards.
- Oversee timely payments to avoid delays and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Accounts Payable Management
- Process daily and weekly accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure all payments are properly documented and aligned with company policies.
- Project Expense/Cost Analysis
- Collaborate with managers to analyze project expenses and budget-to-actual reports.
- Interpret financial data to prepare Site Expense analyses for projects, ensuring accurate reporting and decision-making.
- Proactively identify and address potential cost overruns.
- Financial Record Maintenance
- Maintain detailed and organized financial records for internal and external audits, as well as tax purposes.
- Receipt Processing for Key Personnel
- Handle receipt processing for budget usage specially assigned to key personnel on-site, such as Project Managers.
- Ensure all expenses are properly documented, reviewed, and accounted for in compliance with company policies.
- Month/QTR/Year-End Close Process
- Assist in the close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Field Administration Manager, including but not limited to administrative and general affairs tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of the office.
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Company.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the US legally without visa sponsorship
- Korean/English bilingual is a must (Native proficiency including writing and reading)
BA/BS degree (with the major in: accounting, finance, business)
- At least 1-3 Years of experience in accounting and hands on finance operation (experience working in a Korean company is a plus)
- Ability to handle confidential and non-routine information in a professional manner
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Some analytical ability is required to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
- Must be proficient in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP)
Analytical thinking and demonstrated ability to solve problems
- Has self-initiative that actively searches improvements but also a strong team player
- Exceptional attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials
- Strong ability to multitask and complete deadlines. Must feel comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong time management skills
Desirable/Preferred Skills
- Experience in construction projects of more than 50M
- Experience in oil & gas, semiconductor plants
- International and multi-cultural experience a plus
