Writing Club

BICA writing club will provide ample practice for the mastery of the five-paragraph essay. Students will be understanding the structure of a well-conceived essay and writing with a focus on ideas, organization, word choice, and sentence fluency. Mini-lessons will be provided by the teacher to build strength in specific writing skills for each session. Our students will go through drafting, revising, conferencing, and editing in a supportive and respectful writers’ community. 글쓰기 클럽은 다섯문단에세이를 능숙하게 쓰기위한 수업입니다. 학생들은 에세이의 구조에 대한 이해를 얻게 될 것이며,주제에 맞는 일관성, 글의 구조, 단어 선택, 문장의 흐름에 대한 연습을 합니다. 그룹레슨의 장점을 살려, 학생들은 또래들과 함께 협력적이며 존중하는 분위기의 글쓰기 커뮤니티 속에서 자신감 있게 글을 쓰고 고치며 의논하고 에디팅하고 발표하는 가운데 글쓰기 실력의 향상을 갖고 오게 될 것입니다.

Goals
The specific goals of this club are to develop students who
Know why they write (know the purpose of writing & audience) 이유, 목적과 읽는 대상파악
View writing as a process (ThinkàWriteàPairà Shareàthink) 글쓰는 것은 결과가 아닌, 과정.
Organize ideas before writing (Graphic organizers)  글쓰기 전에 생각을 머리속에서 그래픽 오가나이저로 정리하기
Use transitions to create flow  (usage of Transitions) 접속사 및 전환어의 사용
Exercise proper grammar mechanics  (Punctuations ) 문법의 적절한 적용 (구두법)
Select sophisticated words (Avoid too general and boring words) 어휘 확장과 선택
