재미 한인 과학기술자 협회 어스틴 지부에서 알려드립니다.

이번에 저희 어스틴 지부에서 젊은 과학기술자 분들의 성과를 격려 드리고자, 우수 논문상 (Best Paper Award) 을 마련 했습니다. 대학원생분들과 박사후 과정생분들을 대상으로, 지난 1년간 거두신 성과물들 중 선정해서, 소정의 장학금과 함께 우수논문상을 드리고자 합니다.

참가자격:
1) KSEA-Austin 지부 회원인 분들,
2) 현재 대학원생 이거나, 박사후 과정인 분들,
3) 2015년 7월 1일 과 2017년 1월 31 일 사이에 출간된 peer-reviewed 논문이나, conference 에 초대되어 발표된 proceeding 논문을 대상으로 합니다.
수상 분야:
과학 기술분야를 두부분으로 나누어서 수상 합니다.
a) 기초과학 (NS)
b) 공학 (EG)

신청방법:
다음의 자료들을 하나의 pdf 파일로 만드셔서, 2017년 1월 31일 까지 email attachment로 보내 주십시오. ksea.at.austin@gmail.com
a) 간략한 자기 이력서 (2 페이지 이하)
b) 지원서 (1페이지 이내; 비전문가를 대상으로 한 간력한 논문 소개 포함)
c) 출간된 논문/proceeding
파일 이름은 성함과 분야를 다음과 같이 표해 주십시요.
“applicants’ Full name _ (NS or EG).pdf” (e.g. DONGWOON KIM_EG.pdf)

선정방법:
각 분야의 전문가 분들이 초빙되어 심사를 하게 됩니다. 선정결과는 2017년 2월 15까지 발표 드립니다.

시상식:
수상자분들은 시상식과 함께, 저희 KSEA-Austin 지부의 세미나에서 수상받으신 논문 내용을 간략하게 발표해 주셔야 합니다 (2017 년 2월 24일 오후 6시반; 장소 추후공고) .

Dear KSEA-Austin Chapter members and Friends,

We are very pleased to announce that KSEA-Austin chapter seeks applications for the Best Paper Award. This award is intended to recognize young scientists/engineers in KSEA-Austin Chapter for their contribution to Science/Engineering.

Qualifications:

1) Applicant must be a current KSEA-Austin Chapter member. (Please refer to “How to join KSEA-
Austin” section below to become a member or to renew your membership)

2) Applicant must be a Graduate Student or a Postdoctoral Fellow.

3) Applicant must have 1) a peer-reviewed paper published in print or online between July 1, 2015 and

January 31, 2017; or 2) presented a proceeding paper accepted in conferences held between July 1, 2015

and January 31, 2017

Areas of consideration:

One award will be made for each of two categories of Science & Engineering.

Two eligible categories are as follows (with a broad definition of each area):

a) Natural Science (NS)

b) Engineering (EG)

Each award will include a scholarship of $500.

How to apply:

Submit a single pdf file containing the following information to ksea.at.austin@gmail.com by January

31, 2017.

a) a brief cv of the applicant (up to 2 pages; include your KSEA member ID)

b) a letter of application (1 page) including a short description of paper (intended for a general

public).

c) a published manuscript

Application file name should be “applicants’ Full name _ (NS or EG).pdf” (e.g. DONGWOON

KIM_EG.pdf)

Review process:

Each category will be reviewed by a panel of experts

Awardees will be announced no later than Feb 15, 2017.

Award ceremony:

Each awardee must be able to present a seminar covering the paper in coming KSEA-Austin Chapter

seminar series on Feb. 24, 2017, 6:30 pm, which will be followed by the award ceremony.
