News Korea Texas, Inc, publisher of the weekly newspaper and digital publication, has an opening for a creative graphic designer to join our newspaper production team. The candidate will be fluent in the usage of the Adobe Creative Suite, with an eye for news design and an understanding of typography, photography and illustration. The candidate should also possess excellent communication, organizational and conceptual skills and the ability to juggle several projects at once in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Previous page layout and editorial design experience is preferred but not essential. Position reports to the design supervisor, but also interacts directly with the editorial team.

You must have exceptional multitasking skills, high attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and efficiently, and a passion for learning new trends, techniques, and shortcuts. We have a mixed-media environment and you will need the drive and talent to produce exceptional work.

To be considered for the Designer role, you must have the following skills:

Fluency in both *Korean and English*; Must be able to speak and write the Korean Language

Graphic Design – the ability to work with strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite( Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign..)

Newspaper and other publication Design and produce ads, ad layouts as assigned by the Ad Manager for presentation to their accounts.

High attention to details and accuracy.

Strong organization and time management skills.

Ability to complete multiple projects and to handle deadline pressure and high-stress work environment.

Participate in creative brainstorming. Give and receive feedback. Communicate clearly.

Web Design – basic understanding and skills of HTML and CSS for online projects.

Teamwork – the ability to work with different customers and internal and external creative team members and that will help us deliver our product.

Preferred:

· Ability to translate design to HTML/CSS, is a plus.

· Ability to animate design for added value using Adobe After Effects, is a plus.

· Ability to work with 3D files in Cinema 4D to take design further, is a plus.

· Two+ years of professional design experience desired.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in graphic arts, fine arts, information systems or multimedia Minimum 2+ years graphic design work experience preferred including a portfolio of past work
